Surveying Buildings?

This is another service some architects can’t stand but one we actually enjoy. It can be nasty, dirty, grueling and tedious work but we still love it if it involves a particulalry good old building. We find this an intimate way to become familiar with a building and have become quite good at it. We think the person providing the design services for a building should be involved with surveying it.

We know what we’re doing and I can gather an incredible amount of data in just a short amount of time.

Tricks of the Trade…

We carry a bag full of traditional and digital tools and have learned quite a few tricks along the way. We know what we’re doing and can gather an incredible amount of data in just a short amount of time. We rely heavily on  handheld laser range meters and good digital SLR cameras. With good tools, a good system, and an experienced architect who enjoys the process, there’s little reason for measurement errors or unnecessary field trips.
