PRO Bono

As architects, we already understand the quality of life is related to our environments. The problem is, quality of space is sometimes only available to those who have money. It just so happens we believe the benefits of good design are not just for the wealthy.

Giving one’s time and talents to others begets unexpected rewards”

We are committed to the communities we serve and giving back is an important part of our business culture. We are currently dedicating a minimum of 2% of our working hours to pro bono services annually. We view this not so much as “free services” but bettering our communities for the public good.

Zoning analysis, feasibility analysis, conceptual design and modelling, cost estimating, and construction documentation are just some of the ways we’ve helped in the past. And if it involves providing a better built environment for children, you can count us in.

We are a proud member of the The 1%, a program of Public Architecture connecting nonprofits with architecture and design firms willing to give of their time pro bono.

Unfortunately we can’t take-on everyting that comes our way and there are some criteria that must be met before we will commit to anything:

  1. The project must be in alignment with our standards and philosophy; it has to be something we believe in.
  2. Our liability must be proportional to our fee.
  3. Like all of our projects, a written agreement is required before work begins. This is not only to protect ourselves, it is required by our Professional Libailty Insurance Provider and the California Architects Practice Act.
