Programming
Quite honestly, we won’t touch pencil to paper until we’re satisfied that you (and we) understand what it is you’re really looking for. This is important to us because poor building design can often be traced to ill-conceived programs or incomplete planning. Programming is the combination of research into your needs and the development of performance requirements which shape the function and components of your building. Our ten page questionnaire, when completed by our clients, not only gives us a better understanding in what you’re actually trying to achieve, but also helps you to see your own thoughts and ideas in a logical way. How does it work? Simple: We ask that you read the questions and “fill-in-the-blanks” over a one to two week soul searching period. We simply can’t understand how any successful design can be reached without asking these often personal and sometimes difficult questions.

A Pattern Language.
This book will get you thinking of space in ways you may have never considered. A great way to remove preconceived notions about design and get you understanding what it is you really want but never knew how to describe. The author presents about 250 “Patterns” that become the units of a this design language. By understanding what the problem is, the solution is there for the taking.
At the core of this book is the idea that people should design for themselves their own houses, streets, and communities. Some think this is a radical notion for us to suggest to our clients. But really, the more you can articulate what it is you want, the easier it is for us to help you achieve it.
